WB9606 Hard Red Spring Wheat

WB9606 is a medium-late-maturing variety with excellent yield potential, suited for wheat growers in the Northern High Plains. It serves as a companion variety to WB9719 and is suited best for dryland acres west of Highway 281 in North Dakota.

‎Key Strengths

WB9606 offers excellent yield potential and test weight, very good straw strength, very good protein content, medium-tall stature, and is adapted for dryland conditions.

"The most sought-after attribute of this variety is definitely yield — no varieties in the WestBred® portfolio yield like this one. For example, it’s 2.5 – 3 Bu/A higher than WB9590 and 2.5 – 3 Bu/A higher than WB9653. It can really run!"
