It heads earlier than Granite , has better general disease resistance, high test weight, moderate protein levels, and very good standability. Enhancer is a hard red winter wheat highly adapted to western high plains dry-land environments. Medium early maturity. It is resistant to soil-borne mosaic virus, and has good protection from current races of stripe rust. Excellent yield potential. In 2003 it was the top yielding wheat in the COFT (Colorado On Farm Test) conducted by Colorado State University.
